Re: Grand National Turbo

Re: Grand National Turbo
If you are talking about the manifolds fitting onto Series II heads then the answer is no, they wont fit. You will need Series I heads which will require a Series I block, thus you will need an entire Series I motor, pcm, wiring harness etc.sigpic

Re: Grand National Turbo
I think you can use the turbo with the internal wastegate on it , then everything else would need to be fab. up. I'm currently building a system using GT35R turbo with a T4 flange setup with FFH and a 31X12X4 intercooler with 3'in/out . Also 3" down pipe going to my existing exhaust. Having the Tub. K and A arms will make routiing much easier. Also Tial 38mm waste gate, and the list continues.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake

Re: Grand National Turbo
As stated above... the turbo will work as will any series of the GN turbos.
But the heads and designs are vastly different between the GN 3.8L and the series2.
I will have a forward facing header kit ready very soon that can use a GN turbo.
A stock GN turbo will support 350hp. and flow about 500cfm
TA49 turbo (one step up) will support 550hp and flow just over 800cfm.
Then it go's up from there (Size wise)
The Series2 engines can handle alot of power in the stock forum. The first one I did is currently going mid 12's on 93oct through the mufflers on regular radial tires with a totally stock engine/trans/converter.

Re: Grand National Turbo
It'll be more than one set. It will be full production.
I want it completed and set cost before posting a thread and becoming a vendor.
This is only one part of the picture to come for this engine and F-body.
Oil feed/return kit
And cold side to follow.
I've got a full time buisness to run during the day and project's too.
This is just another fun thing for me.
I'll post pictures of the parts being used to create the pass. header and crossover on this or the Firebird thread.
This 69Mach1 on the hoist is holding me up. All that's left on that is exhaust and Dynomax isn't shipping it till the 30th. Grrrrrr.
I might have to take it off the hoist and put the bird up there.
