  • Starting my turbo build

im gathering the parts, so far i have the turbo and the plugs and wires but i was curious if it would be fine to use stock injectors from a ls1 car, or do i need bigger injectors than those, they are 24 lbs/hr

I believe I've heard people running up to 12 psi on a stock engine. Now that may or may not include stock injectors but you will be able to tell injector duty with HP tuners. You are getting HP tuners right?

Also depends on how big of turbo and cfm, I would think 36lb injectors at least with 12 PSI or might have to go 42lber's. Thats why I bought 65(60) lb injectors to cover me if the 36lb injectors I'm running max out. I think most have ran stock injectors and FMU up to 8 PSI.

i wanted a small turbo so i could spool quick since i was going to run much boost anyways since i have 126,000 miles on my car, so i picked up a t25 out of a 300zx

Whats the specs of the T25 , so it doesn't choke up top in the RPMS?

Im currently running 15 psi on 42 lb injectors. I ran 12 on 36's and they were maxxed.

You wont be able to boost too much with the stock injectors unless you use an FMU. 24's may be enough for a little baby turbo with low boost, but thats about it.

Size of the compressor, size of the turbine, trim, etc...

                  A T25 sounds puny. I think you'll upgrade to a 60-1 or 62-1 very quickly.

Get the right size injectors and tune the PCM with HP Tuners. I highly advise against an FMU, thats just a bandaid for fueling. Do it right with injectors and a tune.

Sweet, I'm planing on 12psi eventually and I've already got the 42 lb injectors in. I'm still learning, so I should probably stop spreading rumors. :D

There is a dude on FTV6 that has 125k on his stock motor and runs 20+ psi of boost and 11's in the quarter mile. Its all about a good set up with good tuning.

If its a stock turbo off of a 300ZX, Im willing to bet its WAY too small. It was designed for a 3.0 liter motor AND for a twin turbo system, not a single.

I would ditch it and get a proper size such as a 62-1, 60-1, or a t3/t4 hybrid.
