just take your time and browse car forums, and not just fbody forums. You will be able to pick up what you need used for a better price than new. Just get it together as you go. Each item you are after, research the pros and cons of each one and look at a few brands.
ya thats what i have been doing, ive been searching for the best price, the whole setup is gonna run me under 400$ :) im just anxious to get this kit on

the whole turbo kit is being done for under $400? If that is the case I question your part selection
im not, im just asking, they do the same thing pretty much, i didnt know if they were both needed
Wut?
They dont do the same thing at all. The BOV releases excess pressure in the charge pipes and the waste gate limits the amount of boost the turbo produces. They work on the same basic principle by opening at certain boost levels via an internal spring, but they have completely different uses.
I don't know about a $400 turbo kit , I like reliabilty, I'm about alittle over $3000 on my kit with a 31 X 12 X 4" intercooler with 3" in/outlets. Also methanol injection setup. Just need to do the rest of my pipping which will be around $300 and I'm done. Then start to put it together. Also got Aeroforce gauge with a EGT controller and probe. I'm using a Tial 38mm wastegate, and a greddy knock off BOV, if it works great , if not going with Tial. Your turbo kit is only as good as the parts you use and how many problems you have with it. Mines for a DD so I'm not going to cut corners on it esp. on a built motor. Since boost can destroy a engine real quick.

well im getting all the piping for free, and i got my turbo super cheap, and a greddy knock off like yours for free, and i need to get a wideband so that will be 200$ or so, and i got plugs and wires from the sponsor on ls1t for 68$, then i need a boost gauge which is about 30$, and a piller for then for around 50$
and you need a wastegate for around $250, and you need an intercooler...if you get a cheap one that"ll be $150...and you need to be able to tune your fuel trims so theres another $500...oh and you'll need bigger injectors to handle more air that you put into the motor, there's $240....and to keep up with the injectors you'll need a 255lph fuel pump...there's $130..
You need to consider all things before you start a project like this.
You beat me to it^ Tial 38mm wastegate $200 silver, you pick sping(himi-racing )great price
You still need tunning soft ware Hptuners, walbro 255 pump, Fuel PSI gauge, oil feed lines, tee , restrictor and oil return line to the pan , maybe bigger injectors 36lb or FMU if running 7 PSI might be safe. Depends how much boost your going to run.

Basically we're all trying to tell you that you're half a$$ing this project.
^ Exactly, what turbo do you have 70 A/R you won' t see boost for awhile in the RPMS , how are you doing your piping? Then you need a downpipe with a O2 bung for the wideband. I have a $1600 turbo sitting here with another $1400 in parts just about everything to hook it up but why rush it , take your time and do it right.

Yes , .63 A/R is what I got for my exhaust side since I shift at 5900 RPMS, if going to like 6500 RPMS a .83 A/R is better

.83 turbine is f'ing huge on a 3.8 no matter where you are shifting. I wouldnt go bigger than .68 no matter what.
Linxs (on FTV6) has a .81 exhaust side and bought a $700 quick spool valve to make up for it. Cool idea and it will make great power pretty quickly, but $700 is too much for me lol. I'd rather have a smaller exh housing in the first place.
its a .64 turbine side, i already ordered 36# injectors, and i know i need a fuel pump, and all the other stuff, i was just naming the things i needed for turbo strictly, i already mentioned a tune and all the gauges, just because i didnt post it doesnt mean i dont already know i need it
you guys are making me look like an idiot, trust me i know most of the information your posting, and i asked the wastegate question because i know most diesel trucks come with only a wastegate and no bov, so i was wondering if i could do the same thing but no wastegate, but to be on the safe side ill get both
and im running a 3" downpipe to a 3" xr-1 muffler i ordered of ls1tech last night
my turbo has flanges for the oil lines instead of the little fittings, so does anyone know where i can get the flanges with the fittings? if not ill just weld my own fittings to it
i know most diesel trucks come with only a wastegate and no bov,
They actually do BOV's, but they are not audible and recirculate the air back into the intake manifold. They are known at diverter valves or bypass valves.
So my truck is finally getting some work done, after 17 years, Oil pressure sensor went out and it’s located under the lower intake manifold. Have to...
