I have this question about a wideband in the forced induction section due to it's content in relation to FI components. Anyways..
Maybe someone can clear this up for me, but a thought occurred to me about the accuracy of my wideband vs location.
I have mine mounted into my downpipe about 25ish inches past the turbo. Let's say I'm reaching max boost that my current setup/wastegate allots and it opens as it should. Wouldn't or, couldn't that potentially throw off an accurate reading the wideband might report?
So, with that said.. Do I even have my wideband installed in the correct place? It would make better sense to me to have it in my "Y" pipe before the wastegate to get the best reading.
The only reason I could think that this might not be normal practice is due to a temperature issue. The stock o2 sensors seem to hold up fine in the headers though. But.. they are a different class of sensor.
I'm doing a bit of exhaust work this week or weekend so while I'm down there, I'll relocate it if I've installed this in the wrong place, otherwise.. I'll leave it be.
Someone clear this up for me. Please!
