high oil pressure

ok got the oil pressure switch fixed, but now i have high oil pressure around 70 at idle
is it normal????
any help will do

What you want to know is how much oil pressure is there AT the engine compared to what the oil pressure gauge in the dash is telling you. If the manual pressure gauge says the oil pressure is normal, then you probably have a faulty oil pressure sending unit or something is not right with your dash gauge. If the pressure is too high with the manual gauge, then you have some sort of internal engine problem or an oil pump problem that should be looked into.

Mine idles just above the 60 mark so its about 70 PSi, after running around it will drop at idle to about 40-50. This is with RP 20W50, I plan on installing the oil PSI kit to raise it to 80-85 so the turbo and engine componets are getting a good oil supply. Most people complain about low oil PSI , then I would be worried.

i wouldn't really be worried about high oil pressure so much as low pressure. I also plan on installing the oil pressue increse kit in the near future.

Great minds think alike. Plus you can't beat $30 for a increase the oil PSI to 80-85 PSI, just a good safety measure esp. with a turbo , it will like you much better, aslong as you run the correct oil line restrictor. Garrett suggests kepping the oil PSI above 40-45 PSI so even when the oil is hot I figure I still dhould be in the 50-60 PSI range which will be great.
