Will my fuel delivery support my desired boost?

Hey,

I've searched, but can't find this info.
I know it's here somewhere cause' I remember seeing it a couple years ago, but I'll ask anyway.

Could you give me a ballpark regarding how much boost my fuel delivery system can support?

I'll be using the Walboro 255lh pump,
high flow fuel filter,
33lb injectors.
DHP tuning.

I was planning on running 10 to 12psi.


Just to keep from making 2 threads, do I need a new drive shaft?
I have a 99 with the one piece.

I've read in the modifications encyclopedia about replacing it with lighter ones, but no mention of stronger ones.

I'm replacing the differential with an Auburn LSD and the 3.23 gears with 3.42s as well.

If I do need a stronger drive shaft, what options do I have?

Not sure on your fueling. But I don't imagine you are gonna need a different driveshaft. Seems to me the big turbo boys that run at least that much don't need one. I doubt you will.

Eh, 33 lb injectors will probably be okay for 10 psi (depending on the turbo), but I suggest 36's for anything more than that. I maxed out my 36's on 12 psi.

Dive shaft will be fine.

I know the 36LB injectors I got for mine, is actually 33LBS , supported the powerdyne to 11PSI easy. But I'm surprised Showdown that with your T-70 you haven't needed bigger fuel injectors with the airflow it puts out when it . I hope to try to stay with my (33lb) injectors with 10-12 PSI with my GT35R turbo.

is this a turbo build or a supercharger build? I didn't catch that in opening post.

If turbo, leave the 3.23s. If supercharger then put in the 3.42s

It's turbo. Why would I want to leave the 3.23's?
I don't much care for top end speed. I like acceleration. The cops here wouldn't be as likely to pull me over for that.

I thought the 3.42's would create more exhaust for the low end too.

I know why I'd want it for the supercharger, but why wouldn't I for the turbo?

3.23s are optimal gearing for turbo cars.

Helps to build boost with a turbo with the higher ratio (lower numerically).

With a supercharger since it is strictly belt driven you want a lower ratio (higher numerically) to get you to and keep you up in the RPM range where you make boost.

Optimum in that it spins the turbo up to a higher maximum rpm, or optimum as in it spins the turbo up to a lower rpm faster?

What if I was running 5psi? I'd get up to boost and then level off even with my rpms continuing to rise.

I don't plan on driving any faster that 75 or 80 except on the off chance that I went to the track, but even then I'd be looking at my numbers on the drag strip.

I want a car that's built to go from 0-70 and scare me while it's doing it.

You sure the 3.42's wouldn't be better for that than the 3.23's?

The whole idea behind the highway gears with a turbo is so that you spool the turbo up and stay under boost for a longer period of time. High level of boost + steep gear ratio = shifting all the time.
