  • 3.4L V6 M90 Install or any other roots type blower

I posted this over on Full ThrottleV6 as well. I am have a hard time finding anything for this engine and dont want to let that discourage me please read and if you have a valuable comment please post it.

Ok I am currently doing a rebuild of a 1994 Firebird complete from the ground up I really want to go FI on the 3.4 it is a strong motor and can be made stronger with proper parts. I dont really care if it will take 4 to 5000 to do it I just want to know if anyone has done it and where did they source there parts. I have been looking at a eaton M90 blower I have read that it can fit on the 3.4 and in the 94 Firebird aswell with modifacations done to the car. I am replacing every part on the car with performance parts I want to make it a one of a kind or as close to it as I can get high performance 3.4 V6. I am not looking to get thousands of HP out of the car and I am not interested in a LS anthing swap I want to keep the 3.4 V6 in the car. So with all that said is there anyone that has done this or thought about it and backed out do to cost I am looking for your Ideas on how to make this setup fit the car and work. Realisticly I only want about 300 HP for this car as it will be driven by a lady for the most part.

it is going to take a lot of custom fabrication and a lot of time and money

there isn't a company out there that makes a "kit" or parts to convert the m90 to RWD

    good luck

Thanks for the reply though.

never been done on a 3.4. WAY WAY back in the day there was a cent. sc for the 3.4 but those have been discontinued.

You will have to fab any type of roots blower, then fab up a to get the air into it without hitting the firewall or cowl.

        i.e. NOT WORTH IT

Go cent. sc or turbo if you need FI.

Been there done that many moons ago. It's a lot of work but can be done if you have some good fabrication skills.

That's really the only way you could do it. And the good thing about that setup in you could intercool it. I saw a Porsche Boxter after market roots SC done in a simular way...only under the engine.

I looked for a looooong time at putting an m60 right on the lower intake. The stock lower is just to crazy to try to adapt. The 3400 lower was more promising but no where to put injectors and still get it under the hood and cowl.

Just for a little background I'm a 3D cad designer with 10 years experience, with a fully equipped machine shop at hand and I gave up on that dream. LOL

Yeah I figured the injectors where the problem. Thanks guys if I am going to remote mount a blower I might as well go centri then I just dont like the turbo setip looks too messy for me.
