  • Return Line

So I have been thinking once I get my dual remote oil filter kit, I know I use the oil pressure sensor and tee off of it for oil supply but my restrictor is .035 for the GT35R doesn't flow much. The dual oil remote kit uses 1/2" lines which I was going to use to tap the pan with. The oil kit has in and out with 1/2" fittings, so I was thinking mounting the oil kit below( around the air dam area so it will drain properly) the turbo and running my -10an/1/2" return line to the oil filter kit since not too much oil will be coming through with a .035 restrictor. What do you think? Also it is a T&D dual remote oil filter. I think it beats tapping the pan. Also have a screw on magnet so it is filtered well besides the dual oil filters. Thanks for any help,

I will be mounting mine on the car under where the canister is atm. The downpipe for mine will be going through there though, so I will have to figure out where to move it. I was thinking about making a bracket to come off the block right under where the idler pulley is on the new setup and arc the bracket down about 42 degrees. i'm not sure of how the vibration will effect the kit

That doesn't seem like it will drain to freely. There will be oil
circulating through the filters and that will be a restriction for
the return line on the turbo.

        Re: Return Line

Its a dual setup 1/2" all the way through which will be sucking the oil back into the engine and the GT35R doesn't flow much oil through the turbo since it is water cooled also and only a .035 restrictor flowing oil for the bearings which don't need much oil. I'll have to check with the garett dealer. I could always Tee off where the 1/2" begins to go back so it wouldn't go into the filters , just straight back to the engine. Just throwing out ideas. I'll see what they say. beats tapping the pan. I was going to mount it on the back of the radiator other side of the air dam so it is low.

Can't do it it has to be gravity feed to the pan. Can't be pressurized at all or will cause bearing seal failure. So looks like I'm tapping the oil pan.LOL

someone else did it a little different, i think they had an oil cooler on it and tapped into one of the lines for this. I'm not sure how they did it, but it looked pretty neat lol

I read up on that also , but I have the -10an stainless line so I'm just going to tap the pan so I don't run into trouble( I would hate to blow a $1400 turbo up) becuase I didn't listen and just tap the oil pan.LOL

Its too hot here, until I can get the A/C hooked up in the garage then I'll be good to go.

                      Re: Return Line

Got the dual setup I thought I got the wrong one but it is the right one. It just takes bigger dual filters Bosch 3500 type like a mustang 5.0 filter but 2 5" high and 3.75 dia. so pretty big. So it should filter pretty well. I'm going to install this bigger radiator finally then mount the dual filters under the back side of the radiator so it should get some air flow to cool them also. Will post pics when I'm done.

                        Re: Return Line

I just got back picking up the Bosch 3500 filters and they are huge b!tches. They are twice the size of the A/C Delco PF52. So I think they will add another quart and a half , so it will make it 6 quarts to fill up, just guessing until I install it. I would recommend this for turbo , supercharged or a N/A built up car who races at the track. For turbo and supercharged guys it will give you more room since the filter won't be sticking out. I post pics once installed.

I can get some pics of how it is out of the car if you want and show you the size difference from a A/C delco PF52 to the Bosch 3500 oil filters.

Heres some pics , I think it will take 1.5 qts. exta so 6qts. total so a case of RP 20w50 will last 2 oil changes, with the bigger filters and 2 1/2" 30 inch lines. You can order the 48" lines if you need longer ones for a extra $12. I think they will go up by the drivers side frame under the powersteering resisvoir.
