I recently picked up a new FFF kit for my 3.4 I am trying to learn as much as possible before the install. Although cammed, I run stock compression with a slightly modified tune (see my cardomain for the full list of mods). I'll pay for a retune if I have to, but it sounds reasonable to work with the tune I have.
Right now, I am thinking of 6 -7 PSI.
What is a reasonable estimate on install time for two respectable shadetree mechanics? My father used to build race car chassis years ago, but neither of us have attempted a turbo. I assume we'll waste tons of time running to the parts store and just making stuff fit. My father has a few days off coming up, and I am wondering if we'll have enough time to finish.
I upgraded my car to 19lb injectors. Will this be sufficient? In other threads, people seem to recommend 36 lb injectors for 10PSI.
Will this kit bolt up to my pacesetters? From what I have been reading, it should.
I am already planning on augmenting the kit with an air/fuel gauge, Fuel pressure gauge and a gauge pod. Summit has quite a few wideband auto meter guages for various prices. Is there any major difference between them?
In Tiago's 3.8 install instructions, he mentions "the famous PCV mod" and a custom gasket to the throttle body. What is this and is it applicable to the 3.4?
The instructions also say to switch to 15w 50 oil. Also applicable to me?
I am trying to dive into the 3.8 install instructions, so I'll probably have a ton more questions. Thanks!
