  • Fans for intercooler

I'm thinking of mounting 2-10" 1500cfm fans (3000cfm total) on the intercooler to push air through to the radiator pull fans. I think it will help cool the intercooler and radiator with flow. I was thinking of using the fog light wires for the fans so I can turn them on/off with the fog light switch inside. Sorry for the high jack but what do you think?

I also have metanol injection that will go after the maf to help cool the intake temps, I just thought this would help push air into the radiator to cool it off more.

I was also thinking that in stop an go traffic it would be use full to cool it down somemore too since they will be on a switch inside the car.

Seems like I've read the gains were minimal when mounting
electric fans on the intercooler. Most of the gains being at
        idle.

Wouldn't hurt to try though. Just log your iat's with hptuners
and see if turning them on while your rolling helps any.

Yeah , I think I will try it , since the gains at idle should be alot better. I'm going to try it N/A with the bigger radiator and see the results. Before with out fans and then add them after some good logs. Turbo I hope to get done by OCT. , I hope sucks doing everything on your own most of the time.

I's really not worh it. If You wanted to go that route looking for more gains, You should swap out your Air to air IC and go with a water one. this will net much better gains. Both options are still overkill for our cars

I'll see how it goes once eveything is installed, It was a thought I had because since working on the radiator install , where the IC is mounted in front theres alot of room. If I run 10-12 PSI at most or 7 PSI I think the intercooler I have should do the job. If I was running 20 PSI + then I could see a need for a A+W IC. Once I'm done with the other misc. jobs where I can start on the turbo mounting then I'll see how it goes.

sounds good, the meth injection is something I'm looking forward to fiugring out. I've never messed with the stuff, but it should be fun to learn as I go. I just got back frm florida, so now it's time to try adn get moving on this whole thing lol

I had methanol injection before same CO. but I never had the progressive controller you can actually make your own injection tune and download it in the controller. Or just use the outside knobs to adjust it. I haven't even messed with mine yet ,except put the stuff on the trunk mount bottle 1.5 gal. which will sit next to my box with my Optima in it.
