Re: Want to build a camaro Grand National? Is it possible.
don't know bout the 400hp-but check out http://www.camarohomepage.com/project/index.htm for some good info on modding heads/cam ect. (as well as suspension) but when ya do get some good turbo/supercharger info, please feel free to pass it along-ive been lookin myself, but to no avail-best of luck
Re: Want to build a camaro Grand National? Is it possible.
If you're looking for 400hp, i would do a cam and heads swap, rockers, valvesprings etc... Along with some FI setup. Of course you'll have to get all the supporting mods as well to increase your fuel delivery. You can learn a bit more specifics by using the search function. I've learned everything from this site so, I know the info is here.
Re: Want to build a camaro Grand National? Is it possible.
400 HP is that crank or WRHP big difference, good turbo and supporting mods 7-8 PSI should get you 320-350 at the wheels which would put in around the 400 HP crank area. I'm looking for 350-400 Wrhp. As for a GN motor ,someone has swaped a 3.8 GN motor into his F-body and it runs outstanding times. I forget his screen name would have to search it.

96' Camaro M5 to A4 conversion, alot of mods . GT35R Turbo full suspension. Built engine

Yeah, that's Gergwheel. He swapped a GN to his '93 bird and he hasn't build it up to its full potential.
My take on this is that if you could build an engine that can take a 17psi of boost then you are right there over 400 rwhp. Just like Andrew's Camaro at 456rwhp and Linx's at 551rwhp.
But our engine at its current state can take as much as 12psi, but you endanger of busting something. 9psi and 10psi are still safe.
Re: Want to build a camaro Grand National? Is it possible.
Very possible. Check out this article. It's a firebird but close enough.
I know some others that have done this with camaro's. I'll try and post some pics when I find them.
Re: Want to build a camaro Grand National? Is it possible.
I think with the right size turbo and cam 10-12 PSI can dyno close to 400 WRHP, I hope to get close with mine.
