let me ask you this.... have you ever done a rear mount? trust me... you'll want an intercooler even if you dont need one (nobody needs one but they help keep your motor and turbo alive, the drop of rate of lifespan is crazy without one)

also, why dont you need a turbo timer? have you ever owned a turbo car? even if its only seeing 800 degrees your oil temp could reach 270 which is not good for a bearings life....

as far as the oil pump, you'll want to evac the oil out of the turbo after shutting the car off or each time you start it up you'll have oil smoke and your seals will wear out much faster, as much as once a year needing a rebuild, and another little issue, how do you expect the oil to climb up hill? you have to have a pump no matter what on a rear mount, i guarantee you will, or again, your going to be blowing turbos

pound for pound, rear mounts are one of the least efficient turbo setups out there.....

(to counter your vette example, note they dynoed it stock, not they started out with a lower stock power level)
Lots of this si correct. the only infot hat was very misinformed is the need for a turbo timer. It's not needed to cool the oil, it's used to circulate the oil through the turbo to prevent heak soak in the turbo. You can get by without one by letting it idle before shutdowwn, along with buying a water cooled turbo

I don't have a plug in on my turbo to tune it. It's a manual turbo. LOL

              Re: Turbo sizing?

If you live where it gets really hot a water cooled turbo would be a good choice, don't have to worry about coking, esp. with 160-170 degree water temps. Just let it idle for a minute and your done.

                  rear mount < front mount,

I've gone through 3 different turbos so far. A gaerrret turbo t3/t4 50 trim would prob be more then enough for you. And this whole i only wanna run XXX amount of boost (psi) doesnt mean crap. ITS CFM you want. More CFM More power. 15 psi of boost on one turbo vs 15 psi on a bigger turbo are 2 completely diffrent things.

Your correct N2OEQIP, your mechanic helped me out before I was banned over there and this is why I went with a GT35R for my setup its good for 6000 rpms which I shift at 5700-5900 RPMS. It should spool up pretty quick around 2000 rpms and have full boost 10-12 PSI by 3000 RPMS or sooner. I wish you and your mechanic would post over here more. You won't get the drama like you get over there. Let me know what you are doing for your new setup and if you could let your mechanic guy (Smokeshow) I think it was know that I took his advice and to check out my cardomain for my build up. Thanks, Steve
