  • v8 to v6 swap

I know I am probably a pioneer in this field, but here is why. I have a 99 camaro 3.8. I wrecked it but all of the mechanical components are in good shape. I was looking for a donor vehicle that needs a motor and tranny. The best option I have found so far is an SS camaro that I can get for $1500 that needs a motor and tranny. What would I have to replace to put my v6 in the car? Is it okay to run the v6 with the v8 fuel pump. Would it run rich?

    For starters..you are looking at:
    Wiring harness & computer
    K-frame
    Trans Mount
Springs(unless you want to sit 4x4 style)
and as far as the fuel system...that can probably be handled by a fuel pressure regulator

I can agree with that.... but if you put a modded V6 in that SS shell.....you could really screw with peoples minds!

I feel ya, I wouldn't mind having a v8 maro but I already have all of the v6 parts. If I put a v8 in the car I would end up with close to $7000 invested. I am looking for a cheap ride to get around in.
