if you ask me the 1000 rpm idle is good, easier to get a good launch. my mustang idled lower and getting a strong, hi rpm launch was a pain

Since this is part of the fuel system you might suspect other components are dirty. It's a good idea to clean the TB itself by spraying carb cleaner into it. I noticed improvement from this as well.
I also decided to pour in a bottle of Slick 50 fuel system cleaner to see if it would help.
Check inside the airduct for cleanliness, if it is dirty, you may want to clean this too.<hr></blockquote> I did the same thing because my car would act like yours and when I came to a redlight it just stop running but I could start it again when I clean the iac I could not move the pintle in/out is it broken?? and the car runs a little better /Have a nice day /HåkanComment

what is it suposed to idle at? mines is 1000rpm some times 900 on a 5 spd v6 3.8 how do i reset if i dont have A/C????Comment

If you guy's want to reset the PCM, its easier to remove the PCM IGN, and PCM BATT fuses, and you do not lose your radio stations, or have to deal with getting your cables on right.Comment
