• the squeaks continue...i'm getting pissed..UPDATE

this is an on going battle.. i have masive squeaks coming from the rear. i tried everything. i removed spare tire and jack. lubed everything.. it coming from the hatch area. it's so annoying. if i rev the car really hard it even squeaks.. it sounds like a metal on metal. it coming from the hatch area. i put wd-40 on everything and it still squeaks.. i'm thinking of removing that plastic piece on the bottom of the hatch... also i have poly bushing everywhere.. can those cause squeaking.. maybe my panhard rod bushings need to be lubed.. this is driving me nuts.. it makes me want to sell my car..

UPDATE::::: after gutting my interior last night i have come across many things. first off the squeaks are coimng form inside the car... with all the carpet removed i can hear squeaks at idle.. also it's coming from the bumper area.. i really think it's my hatch latch, or in that general area. i dod have the RS package and my my spolier needs to come off and be put back on. i'm going to have someone drive my car and i'm going to sit in the back and find out the exact location of the squeaks.. i will win this battle today

Have you checked the nuts on the top post of your rear shocks? If these have worked themselves loose, it can cause a really annoying squeaking at the slightest movement of the car (getting in/out, etc.)

Sorry dude... but this could be a number of things.

It's one of those problems that will drive you nuts, even in your sleep. You'll work your @ss off trying to find it... only to realize your standing in front of a pile of nuts and bolts saying, "Holy Sh!t. Is that my car?"

All I can say is.... Good Luck!

What kind of exhaust setup do you have? I know that when i got mine the muffler it has the little rod to connect underneath the car to hold the muffler up and that can be rubbing on metal...that is what mine was doing i surrounded that the little piece of metal in ducktape and now the squeaking is gone

Get a big@$$ stereo system. That's how I blissfully ignore my interior squeaks and rattles.

mike i had this real annoying squeak chirp sound and i figured out that it was my rear bumper. push down on it and see if thats it, if not i bet its the shocks.

Make sure the shock bolt is centered in the hole and not tounching the edge of the hole. That will cause constant squeaking.
