  • Tuneable?

ok well first off i got a lucky 95 3.8 camaro yay right??..wrong i have no way to tune my car. I am wanting over winter to add a gt2 cam and nitrous and by about june july start building a turbo kit for it. my question is what do i do? do i need a whole new engine or pcm or what will it absolutley need tuned with that cam? i just want to be able to tune it..Basically tell me the most cost effective way to do this?

    Re: Tuneable?

i believe its a direct swap for the 95 as well as 96 to drop in the 97 pcm. i just swapped mine out yesterday and got a basic tune done. makes a world of a difference!

Just buy the newer 97+ computer.. and install. You will be just fine after that.

Why would only the 97 work?

97 is the first year HP tuners works on and the pin outs on the PCM changed in 98.

                Re: Tuneable?

Well I knew that 97+ could be tuend via HP Tuners but I wasnt away the pinouts changed I just assumed they were all the same.

                Makes sense though.

I would search this board and all other V6 boards looking for one. Local Junk/Salvage Yards are also a good place to find these.
