• Who has done the home made fan switch?

Well I want a manual fan switch but I don't want to pay $70 for an slp. I did a search but the site most people used for instructions in the past is not there anymore. LS1.com has instuctions but no pictures and knowing as little as I do about wiring I'd really like some pictures . If anyone has pictures or instructions and a part list I'd really appreciate it.

Check this one out. It has pictures, but it has a sensor to turn on the fans, instead of a switch.

BillyCobin.....can you list how you hardwired your joints, I know that belongs in electronics, but I took mine out because I hat how that fuggin' cord look hanging off the dash like the new Anna Nicole Smith's g-string hanging off the old one. ;)

I did the manual fan switch. What I did was to tap into a line already running to my fog lights, and then run it to my fan. It didn't send an ses light at all, but any time my fan is on, my fog lights are on, vice versa. I don't mind that at all, since I use my fog lights a lot anyway. It kinda helps to serve warning that I'm in Performance Mode ;) One thing you better be careful of is overloading the circuit. I melted a switch at first, and decided that using a relay sure would make it work a lot better. Did the manual switch help my power? The jury's still out on that.

I made mine and it was really easy and really cheap. I have a single fan, though. I basically turn on or off my fan at will. No low speed/high speed crap. If you need info just send me a line or post a reply. Good luck

i have the high and low switch, mounted in my ash tray cause i dont smoke so it didnt matter,

any way it was really easy, causes a ses light only if you leave the fans on after you start the car with them on other wise no code, not like it matters if a ses light is on any way, half the codes dont alter performance

I found you only set a SES whrn you turn the fan on when the engine is already cool at like 170 or so. if you do set a code keep the switch off and wait a few start ups and it should go away soon. mine turns on the lights when i manually turn fans on and whrn the pcm does its cool.

                lando_pr you have mail.

lord_gufi - Did you make yours or buy it? I was wanting to put my switch in the ashtray as well. If you made it let me know, I'd like to know how you did it.

I put a manual fanswitch from some old instructions the ones where you tap into your connectors inside your hood the ones right by your PCM. Downfall is when I turn the fans on no matter what they set a code Fan 1 and Fan 2 Relay or something. And if I turn them off and on again they keep putting the codes on my car multiple times. So i'll end up having like 50 codes of just Fan 1 and 2 relays. I asked before why they set the same code twice but I never got an answer. Oh well.
