  • Adding Coolant

I know this has been a topic that has been on the boards recently, I've read all of the posts and have not found an exact answer to my questions.
Yesterday while driving to work I was stuck at a light for like 10 minutes, my temperature rose to like 220 and my car seemed a little sluggish, my guess was that I was low on coolant and maybe my oil leak was acting up. I bought some Prestone Green Coolant and put refilled the coolant this morning. Don't worry about the orange coolant issues because I have replaced my coolant twice before and it has been with green, I think my dad flushed out the orange coolant over two years ago. My question is this, Should I have flushed out the old green coolant?? Should I have put some water in the radiator or mix the coolant with water rather than just plain coolant??
I came back from Monroe Technology center this morning and I checked my coolant in the school parking lot, My car was parked there for like 3 hours so I wanted to see what the collant level was. It was the same as I left it this morning filled up, but this time the color of ti was kind of orange, like with dirt or something on it? Anyone know what this is?
Thanks for your help in advanced
