  • Popping from EGR?

OK the car has been sitting awhile. Im noticing a popping noise that seems to be coming from the exhaust manifold, closest to the EGR.

    My question is; WTF?

Could it be that the connection to the EGR on the manifold/header may be loose/leaking?

        Maybe a burned plug wire?

Quite possible. Ill check to see how tight it is. I deff heard some noise in that area, I just didnt know whta it was. Seen smoke come out of there too. Could a clogged line cause that?

It could also be that the valve itself went bad, but let's do the easy stuff first.

exhaust leak maybe? I had some popping when my header bolts were loose.

As in electricity arcing from a plug wire will make a ticking noise.
