Well, I replaced my belt with a Gatorback about a week ago, and since then it's been making a whining noise. I checked it today and it's still in perfect condition. I'm kind of clueless as to why it's making that noise. And it's not like a quiet noise either. I could here it while driving behind it in my rx-7 today

Mine sounds like that with a stock belt [img]tongue.gif[/img] .

it does whine.. i believe it is slotted like that to keep cooler..

Yea Hawgs is correct, the noise will settle down but will never completly go away, but its not that bad of a noise. I don't consider it a mod. I have heard a lot of good things about it though, esp. from the gtp people, saying that it doesn't ever slip. Its not ment to keep it cooler, it might do that but, its made that way so it can't break on you. Its not like a grooved belt where if it crack its gonna snap. The gatorback is designed so if it crack it cant go straight across the belt. Not a mod, just upkeep. Also consider Dayco's PolyCog line. The purpose on most of these belts is to make them more flexible in a way. It all reduces friction and heat on the belt/pulley surface, and that makes the belts last MUCH longer.
Gatorbacks are mainly wanted by supercharger guys, as they do not slip near as easily as most belts!<a href=\"http://www.fullthrottlev6.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.fullthrottlev6.com</a> THE SOURCE!Comment
