Alright, I decided to change the spark plugs since I went through the trouble of getting em out and everything. Now the car runs beautifully... for everyday driving kind of things. When I get on it, it backfires, a lot (high rpms). Dunno what the deal is. Nothing had changed since before the spark plugs went bad and the backfire still plagues my fun when WOT. The car practically stops accelerating when I get to 4500rpm. :( My friend suggested that my car was running rich for some reason or another because my exhaust smells like gas. whatever.. HELP!

Hmmm... are you getting the SES light and if so have you pulled the codes? My first suspicion is your plug wires, inspect them closely for any damage. Nope, no SES light. Wires look just fine too. I did the late night trick the other night and saw nothing.

make sure all the wires are pushed onto the plugs. oh, and deef. check to make sure they are pressed onto the coils.Comment
