I was referring to refilling nitrous... It'd just be a hassle. I have plenty of access to car parts, both performance and otherwise - my dad is the operations manager (head honcho) at a parts distribution warehouse.

I'm with ya there on refilling nitrous. If I went that route I'd have to drive to a crappy part of toledo with streets that eat cars up for fun.
Those of you with modified cars, and this includes anything and everything, did you do the work yourself?
I have a 2000 Firebird, and I've been slowly adding and tinkering, but I've been hesitant to delve into some of the more complex things such as a turbo build, internals, heck, even swapping my driveshaft for an aluminum one.
I'm fairly knowledgeable with a wrench, and at the very least I know I can do it with a little direction, but this car is my baby, and I'd be devastated if I hurt my baby.
Just looking for feedback from people who've done their own modifications, or if I should just pony up the extra cash for every mod I want.
Also, as a last note - I would most definitely want to try to do AS MUCH of my own work as possible... I like knowing I built the car up myself. Hence my curiosity!
Let me put it to you this way. When I first bought my car...all I knew was that it was a camaro, a v6, and it had 200hp and 225tq.
My first mod was an ebay CAI. I couldnt even freggin install the damn thing...took me and a buddy awhile to figure out how to get it in there (K&N one I bought originally didnt fit, and the ebay one had a hardtime clearing the abs block) This is how inexperienced I was.
Fast-forward and with the help of several members on this board, and a few buddies that have given me a hand in undertaking my projects I have successfully to date completed myself:
- posi swap
- K-frame and A arms swap
- 2 cam swaps
- Head swap
- New 3.8L motor swap
- phr, lca, rear springs swap
- cloth interior> leather interior swap
- releathered the door panels myself
- header install
- Everything has been taken apart on my motor more than once except for the bearings/crankshaft
- I even have a prototype part in the making for these cars that I designed and am making myself (although time restraints still has it being built lol)
don't be discouraged because you don't know much about cars...being savy with a wrench already puts you one step ahead of where I was...I was decent with woodworking as I took a woodshop class in highschool...but I had ZERO experience with any sort of car repair...Hell, I couldn't honestly properly check oil level on the dipstick when I bought my car...I didn't know sh*t...this site helped me more than what I could ever give back to the members...read read read and you will be fine....
Hey guys. For starters I’ve always been a big car guy, I love all types of cars and can appreciate all types of engineering. I’ve always been a Chevy...
