i put my old wires on and it worked perfectly. im kinda upset that i wasted the money on the MSD wires because i honestly didn't see any improvements...

On a stock motor with a probably functioning ignition, you won't notice much difference. You would notice a difference between stock wires and the msd or any other performance wire if you had a high compresson engine. It takes more energy to fire the spark plug in that situation and the aftermarket wires deliver more energy to the plug because they have much less resistence.
On a side note, in the description of the wires on summits site it says their multi angle. You should be able to bend the straight boots to a 45 degree angle. Should give you added clearence.

people think a name gives them horsepower...it wont. research!

dei makes a good spark plug wire sleeve-about 6" long-but if you have to cut them wear a mask or you'll be coughin up shards of fiberglass threads-i bought mine from summit racing for my '71 monte carlo when i put my headers on it-had a loom break & let the sleeves on one side get right on header tubes-not sure how long it was on there-at least an hour or more-my wires survived & my sleeves got a little blackened spots on 'em-money well spent-saved a $120 set of custom made wires-may be able to find these at some of the local parts houses if they've got a good selection of high performance stuff-life is full of expensive lessons-we've all learned things the hard way-good thing is it tends to stick with ya when you learn it from that kinda schoolin'-lol!-good luck buddy
you have no one or nothing to be upset with but yourself for lack of research..
yeah except i wasn't buying them for more horsepower. i bought a set of autolites at advance to match my new spark plugs for like $30, and then i realized i could go ahead and get MSD for $60. i just know some people talk about gains from them..

i had the same issue with my MSD wires during my last sparkplug/wire change, they kept getting too close to the drive shaft and headers, i fixed it up a bit by just buying a bunch of clamps and clamping the wires close to eachother

I should be getting my black 10mm wires from ZZ performance tomorrow with their wire connectors to keep them organized. I thought I would give them a try, I have been running MSD 8.5mm wires for about 6 years and they really do work well with boot protectors as well.

Not trying to dredge up an old subject but I'm also not happy with my MSD wires. These cables are showing for a 97 V6 and I have a 00 V6. I don't see a set of the 90 degree wires on this site for a 00 V6 but I'd like to pickup a pair. My plugs are factory replacements but the car still misses at WOT and the only thing I've added is the MSD wires.
