I was insulting you, you and me mechanic

dont get your panties in a bunch cause your very wrong and not very helpful in supporting him to do it himself and save a lot of money. you must be one of those people who thinks doing headers and exhaust in your driveway isnt possible to do easily too huh?

The whole point of this board is to help and encourage people to do work themselves, not "O' it's too difficult, take it to a mechanic who will charge you 75bucks an hour".

I havent read anyone mention anything about having to remove your upper intake, and possibly your heads. This would give you enough clearance to safely raise you motor enough to remove your pan. Otherwise the top end of your motor will ride your firewall.

i didnt look at the clearances but i would think that if you go and take off the intake or heads, you would just hit your tranny on the bottom of the car before you reach the bottom intake and especially the block. if you do this, you are just adding a lot of extra problems that is not needed.

I've just replaced the gasket on my pan bout 3 months ago, with no help, and using "no" hoist!. The clearance issue was one of the things i've encountered as I raised the engine! So i GUESS i've done this b-4, ALSO!! but, hey that doesnt matter right! cause I was just offering some info(from experience) that i noticed wasnt mentioned.
