All fluids, oil, transmission, coolant, power steering, windshield washer fluid, maybe flush the brakes.
Air filter
Check serp. belt
spark plugs and wires
check hoses
tires (rotate and fill if needed)
I usuallly clean my battery terminals
fuel filter is a good replacemet if you really want to get into it
As far as what is the best stuff, that is mostly personal opinion. However, I use AC Delco plugs, valvoline oil, and for the rest of the fluids I just get whatever isnt completely expensive.

Above....^^^ plus Turn rotors, coils, grease fittings, maybe 4 o2 sensers, and maybe shocks and struts. The fuel filter and air filters should be number one on your list, they are easy to do and cheap. After that i would drop transmission pan and change filter, of course refill with fresh fluid.http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2245261 Green 1997, 105k, all stock except for Z28 front springs, Air shocks in the rear, home made coolant recovery tank, home made battery hold down.
