• How do you get this light bulb out?

My light bulbs that are on the doors that light the locks and window buttons are burnt out. How do you get them out of the socket? I tried turning and pulling. Any info is appreciated.

they pull straight out. i couldnt get a good grip with just my fingers. i wrapped the bulb with a bit of tape and GENTLY used some pliers to get a good grip.

Just changed both of mine a couple of months back as well. If you can get the door handle insert completely off, your angle of approach is much better. Other than that...like the above referenced friends said....slow...easy....and straight out. the replacements are like about 2.50 at AZ for both. I believe the number is a 95 or 97 or something. Anybody remember for sure?

There was a big old thread on the local fbody board about someone not being able to get the bulb out after trying for awhile. I got min out in lets see 5 seconds.

If you are replaceing it, don't worry about breaking it:) it is alot easier to get out once you break it with a pair of pliers:)

I wound up shattering the bulbs and pulling the wiring out with pliers... one of the other bulbs just yanked right out though.

I just double-checked it...the bulb is a #74. It is available at almost any auto parts place at about 2.50 for two of them. As for the LED question, If someone else on here doesn't know, I'd check with the parts store. The guy at autozone told me that there are definite heat issues in that little cramped up area there in the door panel. I asked him if I could go with a more powerful light and that was his response.
It really is a piece of cake to change out!
