  • Rattling noise coming from the rear end.

In the morning when I start the car up the vibration from the idling causes a rattling noise that is coming from the rear. It's a constant rattle until I put the car in drive and then I only hear is occasionally when I hit a bump or something. The rear end in general feels very weak when I hit bumps in the road. Any ideas? Could this mean my struts/shocks are going bad? Loose exhaust? I checked the exhaust to the best of my knowledge and everything seems to be secure.

id check your shocks and struts something may have come loose and rattling around a bit, either that or the exhaust might be loose. I had that problem when i first bought my camaro in 06, the exhaust was rattling around sooo bad and something kept hitting the bottom of my car everytime i went over a big bump hahah. Do you hear any rattling when you slow down to a stop at all?

this happened to me the other day.. i had a loose clamp right behind the cat. so look at all your clamps and tighten them down that should be the problem

If its not exhaust, then maybe its your LCA bushings.

              This.

Check to make sure all the bushings are in good condition. Also check the exhaust hangers. There's a mount insulator for the hangers that tends to go bad and cause noises on bumps.

yep...you can check your rear sway bar end links to...one of mine have snapped before...that could cause it...could also cause the rear to feel a little weirder...exhaust shields are famous for making rattling sounds as well.

Yea...see I'm no good with suspension. I wouldn't know where to look to see what's broken or not. Probably just go to a mechanic and have them check it out.
