  • Got my T&D remote dual oil filters on today

So I finally got the T&D dual setup on took about 6 qts. of oil after running it abit letting the filters fill up and the lines. Mounted it right below the radiator for now but might move it to the pass. inside wall. Used some AC Delco big filters P52 I think they are for a 5.0 mustang so I would say the filters take almost a qt. by themselves. I messed up and tightened the remote base too much and it has a small drip so I will try and fix that, but all in all nice setup, plus it clears more for the turbo downpipe. Might take some pics tomorrow when I do the brakes/rotors and raise the front another 1/2" billet spacers.

Cooler oil since there's more of it my guess. Oh and it also drains your wallet faster! Or it might also increase oil life.

Cooler oil, protects the engine more, longer oil changes and more clearance for my downpipe for my turbo. Also better for my turbo, I see more constant oil pressure also. I run RP 20/50 so its thick but went a year without changing oil since I don't drive much. Now with the dual filters , just makes me feel better in the AZ heat with the turbo. I don't care about cost aslong as it makes the car safer and lasts longer with the turbo. Gotta pay to play. I'll see if I get a chance to snap some pics Mon. when I do my front rotors and brake pads, maybe even install my 1/2" billet spacers for my QA-1's.

            Yeah, pics, pics, pics....

I have a hard time imagining those big filters under the radiator. Are they in danger of hitting parking lot bull dogs or curbs?

I was thinking of mounting a single on the passenger side near the battery. Need to make a heavy duty bracket to make it work.

What is the hot temp oil pressure at idle and 2000 rpm?

Yeah , I had to take it off for now since it scraped so I'm going to put it on the pass. frame by the A/C canister. But I rasied the front 1 -1/2"'s so there would br plenty of room now , but I still didn't want it there and its going to take some work to put it on the frame, taping and drilling and using spacers to have it out more. My turbo pipping is going to be right in that area the turbo pipe into the turbo and then the downpipe will run by the oil filter. But I'm spraying the pipes with 2000 degree temps and I might just wrap the pipes and go from there. But I will probably get the dual oil filter set up going since I like it, it will keep the oil cooler and will hold 6 qts. for better cooling and more protection.

I'm going to have to make a similar offset mount to get a remote filter to be high enough to clear the torsion bar and clear the AC canister too. How many inches wide is that double filter? Must be tight, especially with the extra turbo piping you have.

I plan to add an oil cooler with the filter. Not sure how much more cooling the remote filter alone offers. But coolers are rather cheap, and really improve oil and engine life.

Did you get a kit that you cut the hoses to the length you need, or with fixed length hoses with crimped ends?

                  Pics,pics, pics.... :D

Re: Got my T&D remote dual oil filters on today

Its off the car but yes it was going to be in the way of the turbo pipe, so I said F it for now and will work on putting it below the A/C canister , I was running 90 degree brass elbows too on it so there were no kinks in the lines. I have raised the car to where it will still work where I had it but its not the safest place. Its about 10-12" long and with just the A/C delco big filters for a Mustang 5.0 they are about 8-10"s in height. So the below the A/C canister is the best spot unless you get the 48" or 72" lines and run it over on the drivers side, but I'm not going to I think thats too far. Hoses are fixed lenght it comes with I think 24" hoses and you can order for not much more money 36",48" or 72". I'll post the directions for the kit since they have them online for the single and the dual kit so you can take a look. I saw a Trans am write up and i might follow his style bracket but for the inner wall.
