    Car starts then dies, any ideas?

    alright last night i was gonna go out cruising and when we were getting ready to go i tried to start my car and it would crank over and start but then the rpm's would drop and it would die. i checked the battery and i had 1/2 a tank of gas

    i would say it is either a clogged fuel filter, or the IAC is stuck

        Idle Air Control valve. It keeps the engine running when the throttle plate is closed.

        Will it stay running if you keep your foot on the gas pedal?

          itll keep going if ur foot is on the gas pedal but as soon as u take it off it dies

            unplug your MAF and see if it runs better. Might be a bad MAF.

            Also please use a better thread title other than HELP!!!

              its works now me and my brother looked at it and it started up like nothing happened

                that sounds like the IAC got stuck, when i took mine out to clean it the same thing happened
