so I went and got gas 2 days ago and for the past 2-3 days my gas gauge is stuck on lil past full and ive gone like 125 miles on this tank which is about at half and it stil reads past full....is this cause of the sending unit being bad or is there something else i should know of? I cant get the sending unit from my work so who would have it?

Wow.. same exact problem here. Odometer shows 130 miles and fuel gauge is above full...
I used to own a 2000 Grand Am that did the same thing. I did some research and it seems as if this is a HUGE problem GM wide and affects a lot of different models... Camaro's included.
Anyway, if this is the same problem, then it does require a new sending unit, unfortunately meaning dropping the fuel tank... arghhh. I really hope I'm wrong!!
Anybody else??

Happened to me too. The gage never dropped below almost full even after I had 300 miles on the tank, and I refilled it and got in 13 gallons. So I knew there was a problem. Mine was under warranty (with a week left!) and they replaced the entire fuel pump. The pump was fine, but the sending unit/pump are one assembly that requires dropping the tank, and rear axle to get to. The cost at the dealer would have been $800-1000, but somewhere else can do it cheaper. Or, just use the trip odometer!1999 Y87 Camaro<br />Whisper Lid, SLP SS Takeoff Exhaust
