Do spare tire and jack, of course. I would make sure you're at a quarter tank, and don't have any amps, speakers, cd cases, etc... Beyond that, it just depends how much you want to do. You could do backseats and even more, depending on how serious you are.

Not really worth it. For all the stuff you remove and subsequently have to put back in...
For every 100 pounds of weight you rid from the car, you'll go a 10th of a second quicker.
Getting 100 pounds out of the car ain't all that easy. And for all that, you'll go from 15.60 to 15.50. I'd leave it in.<b>15.41</b> @ 89.80 & 15.45 @ <b>91.64</b>, 2.21 60ft, 3,440 raceweight, using <b>OEM</b> Equipment. <br />\'98 L67/M49 w/ 134,000 miles before spun bearing. \"<i>It\'s all stock, Baby</i>!\"

i agree, on street driven cars weight reduction for the track is a PITA to run a tenth faster that you wont even see when youre rompin around on the streets with all that stuff back in the car...drag cars is a different story, our nova is completely stripped, with glass fenders, truck, hood and doors, that tenth doesnt mean much from 15.5 to 15.4 but it sure does from 9.82 to 9.72 @ 148 ;)

Now if you actually do stuff like reducing your unsprung weight. Running lightweight rims (skinnies up front), Swap out your Front K-member, upper and lower A-arms, lightweight disc brake kit, lightweight drag shocks. Then you can ditch 100 pounds off the front of the car. You may only go a 10th quicker, but your weight distribution will be closer to 50/50 and will make you a better handler.
Relocate your battery to the back. The A/C equipment is worth nearly 50 pounds if you go so far as to run a block off plate for the heater. Pull the carpent and all your insulation/panels. Get rid of the winsheild washer fluid - that's a good 16 pounds. Replace your windows with speedglass.
You do everything you can, you should be able to drop it about 500 to 1000 pounds, and it'll go half to full second faster, but you'll also have a car that no one will ever ride in with you because it will be too uncomfortable.
And should you ever have a flat, you now have to call a tow truck, or leave your car overnight. I'd leave the jack right where it is and concentrate more on losing a few pounds yourself.
Both cars being equal. Th 130 pounds guy is going to win against the 300 pound guy.<b>15.41</b> @ 89.80 & 15.45 @ <b>91.64</b>, 2.21 60ft, 3,440 raceweight, using <b>OEM</b> Equipment. <br />\'98 L67/M49 w/ 134,000 miles before spun bearing. \"<i>It\'s all stock, Baby</i>!\"
