so the question is?
what should i do the preserve the bird in optimal conditions
while in storage :stp:????
BTW. i do want to drive it every other week.
headers, high flow cat, slp loudmouth
powerdyne supercharger 6psi
GT2 cam. all done by myself
Hell yea
2000 Firebird- Intake, Pacesetters, !cat, full 2.5 to flowcrapster, 1.9 rockers, LS6 springs and Intense modded retainers, WS6 speedlines, T/A bumpers and hatch, 5 spd swapped, SOON TO BE nitrous'd and cammed.
if you want to drive it every other week, then do nothing except put some fuel additive in
Agreed. If you plan to store it away for a few moths or more, then there are further steps to take. A week or two shouldn''t need anything...especially in a garage. My car sits in my garage for weeks on-end sometimes, and it's fine when I take it out. Just let the engine idle (no throttle!) for a minute or so after starting.
Don't bother with fuel additive. My car sits for about 5 months at a time with nothing added to it and it does perfectly fine. Just keep a battery tender hooked up if it's going to sit for more than two weeks and you'll be fine.

yup, i just said that to be on the safe side
i have a car sitting that has 4 year old gas in it, and it starts fine, also i started a car with gas that was in the tank for 11 years and it started great.

Pace how much does a decent battery tender run ya? I might need to pick one up for this winter while the BallerMaro is resting in the garage---I just got back from a week long trip and didnt drive her the week before (bad weather), and came down to drive her today and the battery was dead. 11 month old battery too. I guess it finally got cold enough here to drain the cells---needless to say, I was pissed.

I stored my car for a week with the battery connected to come back and the battery was dead.
I unhooked the negative terminal and stored it for 2 months. Hooked it back up and she started right up.

This is the one that I have. You can find it cheaper from other places, but it definitely works well when the car sits for longer times or if you accidentally run down the battery. We liked it so much that we bought two more (one for the other car and one for the plane) and a smaller one for the motorcycle.

Hey everyone! I've been trying to remove my transmission for two days now! I need to replace the clutch. Only thing I've got left holding the transmission...
Hello, so I changed the front bearings on the bird and the ABS inoperative light came on. I made a mistake of not removing negative battery cable. Now...
I usually have to double, triple my headlight switch for them to come up on my 97 Firebird. I cleaned all connections. Could it be the headlight switch...
