Things to do after storage? Car not running well:(
I just got my car out of storage tonight, and was driving it all night. Although at low RPM's the engine sputters and hesitates. It almost feels like the fuel is being partially cut off. What do you think, maybe a fuel filter and a tune-up? Or is it something more serious. Also, the idle is a little rougher than usual.
Thanks for any input you can give me.
bad gas or fuel pump ... either its out or it just needs to be cleaned up.. put some new gas in it.. and drive it hard for like 15 min.. see if that helps
well you got a few options here.. it could be fuel and it could be the dreaded plug wires and plugs..
honestly if you think it's the fuel drain the tank.. (buy a small pump to do this, don't drop the tank) change the fuel filter, fill the tank back up with new gas also add a good fuel system cleaner.. (valvoline makes a good complete fuel system cleaner)
as a little added incentive I'd change the plugs too, but as that can cost you up to $40 just for the plugs if you go with stock ac delco's you might wanna hold off..
also if you are getting a light go get your codes scanned..
otherwise that should be a good starting point.. though I'm not sure 4 months is long enough for fuel to go bad.. not that bad at least, but there is the possibility that you got condensation in the tank and now you got water in your gas.. if this is the case changing fuel and filter should change the way it runs pretty quickly.. say a good hour of highway driving should get the rest of the crap outta the system..

Four months should not have affected anything. I've left mine once for six months (started right up no problems) and once for 14 months (new battery no other problems).
Just add some fresh fuel and you should be good.
