So, as you all may know. I am new to this site, well fairly new. Ive been on here for about a week now and I love it. So i heard of this seafoam stuff, I was pretty cautious cause my 3.8 isn't a project motor and is my DD. I didnt want to do anything (riskay) to Fuss up my car. My friends told me :slap: that Seafoam worked pretty well. So. giving in, i went a bought a can. (btw walmart sells them the cheapest ANYWHERE. So i went to my friends house. took the intake off and sprayed some seafoam down the throttle body and into the planum. I then proceeded with starting the car after 2 or 3 minutes and poured half the can in the pcv hose untill the car stalled. I let it sit for 10 min or so. (btw a cool engine is best so the chemical does not burn up while its sitting there). I then started the car and BAM my town had fog that day . I again poured the rest of the contents in the pcv hose and the car died again. Another 10 min went by and i started the engine again. I TELL YOU WHAT more smoke came out of that car than ive ever seen. I let it idle for abotu 2 or 3 min and then drove away. Upon getting on the main road i gave it HELL. and the car behind me...hahaha. he gave me a nasty gesture with his hand as he passed me in his minivan later after i had slowed down.

All in ALL. the car runs SOOOO much better. I think better than it did when new. I hear a bit of a churp going into second now:drool:, and as you know thats not usual. Im literally bettin it could run a 15 flat quarter now.

MY advise. FOR only 8 bucks, ITS literally a miracle in a can.

The only mods i have are

    Coldair intake.
    Exhaust(catback)
    342's for the rear end
    and ac delete.

Venom, i would strongly recommend it. honestly there is no way you can hurt your engine from it. THE ONLY thing that it might do on the negative side is make your eyes water from the fumes, and possible throw your fuel curve off for a couple minutes. I bet your car sounds EXACTLY like mine. cause we both have basically the same mods. although mine doesnt get raspy untill 3500 rpms.

Well you could put too much in and hydrolock the engine. That would hurt it.

Actually before you get over confident I would like to say that Seafoam CAN hurt the engine. It damages the piston rings if you use too much of it which will destroy your compression and call for a rebuild. So do use it with caution and don't use it more than once a year at the very least.

seafoam is only ok if its used in the gas/vacuum lines, but it is NOT ok putting it in a high mileage engines oil.

anyways, seafoam works better when it is going into a hot engine, not cold the process of it "burning up" is actually what breaks the carbon up.

i have poured water into carburetors before to clean the engine out, the steam the water makes breaks the carbon up on the pistons/heads

My smoke show wasn't very big. I let it sit for a few hours though.

just remember, it is recommended to change the plugs after you do this in case they get covered in carbon

Ok, I don't exactly know the valve positions when a car shuts off.. but I'm willing to bet if you put it in the brake booster line and the 6 or 5 intake valves are open you might be able to f it up. But as the writeups go, I don't think you're suppose to keep pouring it in unless your engine is still running. People have screwed up easier things though.

the engine at idle is about ~1000rpm, which means the valves are opening 8.3 times a second, i would find it hard to believe a can of seafoam would hydrolock an engine

it would take way more than that IMO

Like I just said, if it were to get into one of the cylinders while the engine was off..............>d.fjaldwekgfaqewgj

when the engine shuts off it doesnt instantly stop and load up one cylinder, unless i am a bit confused at what you're trying to say
