The temp gauge reads the EXACT same. Strange I think. It runs the same (not like I was expecting a huge difference) The install is EASY! 2 10mm bolts and thats it. Took 25 mins.

The gauge doesn't read different but down the highway if you autotap you'll be running ~182-185 instead of 195-200.
It does run a little cooler, but our gauges are vague.
If you want to see a change, you need a 160 stat, 60-70% water mixture in the coolant, and possibly even a fan switch when sitting in traffic.2002 5-spd NBM Camaro

People don't realize that their t-stat doesn't control the MAX temp their car runs at....it controls the "minumum" temp, by opeing and alllowing the flow of the coolant when it reaches the 180* mark...your coolany will still reach the 200* mark, just not as fast.<a href=\"http://www.fullthrottlev6.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.fullthrottlev6.com</a> THE SOURCE!

Also check your coolant level. I had an issue once where I could not get the heater to work, even with a 195 thermostat, wouldn't get hot and the thermostat acted like it was stuck in the open position. 220-230 then down to 180 and back up. Come to find out my coolant level was way too low. Filled it up, let the engine run for a while...turned the heater on full and re-checked the coolant (will take a tad more with the heater on) and bingo, I nearly burnt my hand at the vents. And the car was also running normal like it should be.
But I have a 195 'stat and it rarely gets above 180. For a cramped engine bay and slanted radiator, GM did a good job the Camaro cools itself really well. So, listen to others, max is not always what you get.<b>15.41</b> @ 89.80 & 15.45 @ <b>91.64</b>, 2.21 60ft, 3,440 raceweight, using <b>OEM</b> Equipment. <br />\'98 L67/M49 w/ 134,000 miles before spun bearing. \"<i>It\'s all stock, Baby</i>!\"

no he didnt....
i think the reason your temperature gauge shows the same is because in 98 they had problems w/people freakin out cuz the Temp gauge would go up and down(like its supposed to) so they made the 99's and up to where they would go to a set temperature and stay there...my buddies 99 Formula's temp gauge goes right up to 210 about 5-10 minutes after he starts it and it doesnt move...

Put down the crackpipe and back away! I guess the "195" on the bottom of my stock t-stat means it's really 180? Troll.<br /><br /> <a href=\"http://www.cardomain.com/id/nitroxxx28\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.cardomain.com/id/nitroxxx28</a>
