• 4500 RPM cutout

ok I was on a back road down hill decided to see what my car had well in 5th gear when I hit 4500 rpm it had a fuel cutout limiting the speed. Anyone else ever hit this? I have the gov shutoff but this was a new one.

Yes, our cars are limited to 118 mph because that is the speed rating of the stock tires.

I've got Z rated tires and a hypertech I was doing guessing by unexact math 143 mph with my new gears. I know it was 150mph w/my old ones and I hit it with those also.

maybe you should stop guessing and buy a LS1 guage. ;) sounds like my firend with his 85 z28 who says he can go 140 when his guage stops at like 85 or something

I changed from 3.23 to 3.42 not a big one but I also got better gas mileage out of the change too. So I'm happy with it.

Well, I used to own a 65 coupe with a 4 bolt main 350, 202 heads, turb 400 and all the rest of the "stuff", then a 82 LS4, which was not much to bragg about. My sister has 94, and it runs ok, (she wouldn't let me take for a thrill ride ), my brother has a 64 roadster with the factory 327 with a 4 speed, and it is fast, but not 150. The new ones will go 160 to 180 depending on the model. I should have been more specific when I made my comments. More power to you if your car will go 150.
