Re: oil pressure gauge dops to 0 when im braking
It sounds to me like an electrical issue or a problem with the sensor. Have you checked the alternator voltage when this happens? Our cars (3.8's - I don't know about 3.4's) sometimes have a power dip when you hit the brakes. Mine does it once in a while. However, it does not make the oil pressure gauge drop. Rather, the lights dim for a second then come back up, especially if there is a lot of load on the electrical system.
The way you will know for sure what's up with the oil system is to hook up a mechanical gauge and watch it while you drive. If it works normally then it's probably a bad sensor. That would be the first easy and cheap thing to fix. Next would be to try and locate an intermittent short in the circuit leading to the gauge.2002 Silver Firebird A4
T-Tops, Leather, Y87, W68, Chrome Wheels
Bone Stock
