• Wierd chirping sound after slowing down from 100 mph

I have experienced a wierd noise coming from the engine bay area after recent hard runs up to 100+ mph (don't do that very often though ;) ). It's a high-pitch, fast-paced chirping sound that I thought was the fans make noise the first time I heard it. The sound grows fainter as I slow down and it abruptly disappears once I (1) come to a complete stop and (2) put it in neutral and let off the clutch.

Only seems to happen when I top 100, I can rev it past 5K and keep it under 100 and I haven't heard it. Anyone experienced this or have an idea?

possibly your exhaust banging on a crossmember or something. I have the same thing when I get to 80, since my exhaust is all hacked up.

The engine is pissed at you!
Have someone sit under the hood next time to hear where the sound is coming from

Well, its not RPM related, so rule that out. Nothing with the belt system, cause its only speed related. Therefore, check anything wheel related. Rotors warped possibly, and only high speed braking causes them to squeek? Wheel bearings?

The rotors are a bit warped but the chirping began long before I touched the brakes Friday. ... The source of the sound seems closer than the wheels anyway. I'm wondering if it is something in the instrumentation panel (how much of that is computer controlled though?) or throttle related (when I first hear it I'm completely off the throttle).

Does the chirping sound like a hamster wheel of some sort?

The hamster wheel broke two months after I bought the car and since I had modded the car (lost a lug nut cover and replaced with one from a Grand Am) GM voided my warranty and wouldn't replace the wheel, so it can't be that.
