  • Please help ...Plug and Wire Install

I tried to change the plugs for the first time today in my 01 Firebird. But I couldn't get the boot off of the plugs. I pulled and pulled and pulled. Does the factory put some lock-tite or something on them? How do I get them off? Also, I got the 8 mm Taylor wires from Thunderracing.com. But they gave me 90 degree boots on the wires. Is this right? Currently, it looks like the facotry wires are 180 degree and they have some sort of metal shield over them. If I use the 90 degree, will I have to cut the metal shield?

they are 90 degree where they go into the coil packs. they are straight where they attach onto the plugs.

i had to use some vice grips to get a few of mine off. they are just a mofo. pull hard!

You just gotta have the touch! j/k That's how my taylor's are, they'll be fine. You don't ahve to use any heat shields with em', just make sure they are not pressing against an exhaust manifold.

Domestic Violence ... just to clarify. Thunderracing.com sent the 90 degree bends. i.e. both ends are 90 degrees.

        Thanks guys
