I have a 96 camaro rs. I just replace the heads and the gaskets because the car had overheated. I change the milky oil out and put new oil and filter. I also put new plug and wires. I put everthing back together with new gaskets and now the car is running rough or mis fire. All coils are new. After putting water in the engine and letting it run rough nothing happen. When I push the gas it clears up but it mis when its idling. I check my oil afterwards and it was milky again. What could be the problem? Could it be a crack block?
Warped heads or head, did you get them checked after you over heated to see if they were warped or cracks in the heads? How hot did it get? I would ususally get the heads milled like .005 or .010 just to make sure their flat. Could also be lower intake gasket. Really don't know until you tear it down again.

Unless their tested you can't look at them and say their OK, they need to be checked for cracks and flatness(esp from a junkyard), thats why I always have any heads I get they are checked and milled at least .005" just to be sure. Other than that not enough sealant on the valley corners , should be covered by the mechanic that did the job. Pre 98' heads are known to have flaws in them, valve guides breaking and just overall not worth buying. 98-02 they had a new casting # on them and fixed there issues.
