my car started misfiring today and when i went to autozone to have it checked they told me it had multiple misfires ..they told me it was either the plugs, injectors or coils...is there a way to test each of these before having to replace one or the other and that not being the problem. i changed the plugs and wires last year so i dont think its that.

Re: misfire
Visually inspect all wires for burns or fraying, check the seating of the plug boots. You may want to check all the plugs visually as well to see if any are damaged or worn. Run a can of seafoam in your tank, or other injector cleaner. Might want to do the whole treatment just because. Then buy a single coil pack for like 20 bucks and rotate it through the three to see if the problem is fixed. Keep it clean in case it doesn't fix the problem so you can return it.

Did autozone tell you which cylinders are missing? If they are run by the same coil, it's the coil. Otherwise, double check the plug wires.<a href=\"http://www.fullthrottlev6.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.fullthrottlev6.com</a><br /><a href=\"http://www.chitownracing.com\" target=\"_blank\">www.chitownracing.com</a>

Re: misfire
idk if this works or is smart but i disconnected each wire from the coil pack one by one while running to see if i could find which one was bad but what i saw is that when i disconnected the wires from the two front coil packs the coil pack would try to make contact and you could see the electricity sparking blue but for the last coil pack you couldnt see anything like in the first two but you could feel it a little (it doesnt hurt that much lol) so would you guys think the last coil pack could be going bad? ill go back to autozone and see if they can tell me which cylinders are badLast edited by firebird19_99; 02-11-2010, 02:53 PM.
