can anyone narrow it down? first he said it had a cylinder misfire then he said it had multiple cylinder misfires
We can't tell you anymore without getting specific cylinder codes. You're going to have to do some work. Like I said previously, pull the coilpacks one by one and have them tested. It's free and doesn't take more than 10 minutes for someone that's never done it.
If one of the coilpacks has too high of a resistance, then it's bad and will need to be replaced. Simple as that.

If the higher RPM's causes the misfire to get worse, the timing is whats going off. With the timing off, its just firing whenever it says so from the sensor, making it throw multiple codes, as well as a cam or crank sensor code. Its hard to tell until we all get the codes off the reader, and you post them up.

the only code it was putting out was P0300 code...so would you guys say crank position sensor?
I still think you should check out the things that are free to get tested before delving into sensor issues. My car exhibited the same symptoms Mogobs described, yet the culprit turned out to be a worn coil pack. It was throwing a P0300 code and another that told us that #5 was missing, but wouldn't say what the other was (we later realized it was #2, which is run off the same coil pack). It acted like normal under cruise and light throttle conditions, but once you pushed it to half throttle or was under load it would misfire like crazy. Turns out water was leaking under the cowl and dripping onto the ICM at the base of the coil packs.

If all you have is a P0300 code, its really trial and error at this point. Its a suckass code to get, because its so damned vague. Best thing you could do is test the coil packs, individually, and see what happens from there. Check the plugs, wires, have the ICM tested if possible.
Best way to try to pop more codes is to put it under load for a short period of time. If you don't wish to do that, then as everyone has suggested, do what you can to eliminate any trouble spots first. Usually a cam or crank sensor has its own codes if they are starting to fail, and you want to hope its not the crank sensor.
