Driving back from a two hour holiday trip my '94 Bird (120000 auto, 3.4) beagn revving about 5/7 hundred rpm higher then it should. At first I thought I had blown the tranny's overdrive but then noticed it appeared to be running higher in all RPM ranges, including parked and at idle (at idle it is at about 1000-1100 rpm. TO wiped to serch aorund right now, but any ideas as to what to check out tomorrow am would be appreciated. Thanks! And Happy Holidays!

Really high idle could be caused by a vacuum leak. But if it's idling now at 1-1.1k it's not that bad. Clean out your throttle body, if you've never done it it's probably all gummed up.1994 Firebird 3.4
15.65 @ 86.8
funkz.net/firebird
Timeslips

I would agree that a constant high idle is probably IAC related, that has happened to me too. But I'd also check for vacuum leaks before buying a new IAC.2002 Silver Firebird A4
T-Tops, Leather, Y87, W68, Chrome Wheels
Bone Stock
