Fuel filter how to?cant find site?

Ok someone on here mentioned a site that had a lot of how to info for the f body. It was a LS1 site but it had a step by step how to do the fuel filter> My computer crashed and I dont remeber the site anyon know what I am talking about? any help would be great. thanks.

fuel filter is cake. under drivers side bout 2 feet in front of rear tire ull see it. loosen gas cap, get two wrenchs loosen slowly then pliers on the other sides quick tab. push in and pull out and reinstall new filter. another thing u can do is get under car find harness for fuel pump and pop it loose, crank car till it runs outta gas.

thanks do you know what size/type wrenches I will need? someone told me it take a different wrench on on of the lines? thanks a bunch.

hmmm i dont remember the sizes off the top of my head ima say 13-17 mm , always better to use flare nut wrenches if u have em on ne type of metal lines.

Also relieve the pressure in the system first unless you like the taste of fuel

wear eye protection and clothes you dont care about, it takes 3 minutes with channel locks

This was taken directly from the Chilton's manual. I have added some notes which are in parentheses.

The in-line fuel filter is located on the fuel feed pipe, before the fuel injection system, and mounted directly in front of the rear axle. The filter housing is constructed of steel with quick-connect inlet and threaded outlet fittings. The threaded fitting is sealed with an a-ring. In order to disengage quick-connect fittings, a fuel line quick-connect separator tool set, such as J-37088-A or equivalent(which you can buy at Autozone for about $3), is required. There is no service interval for fuel filter replacement (should be done about every 30000 miles if not sooner). Only replace the fuel filter if it is restricted (yeah right).

1. Release the fuel pressure as follows:
- In order to perform this procedure as listed below, fuel pressure gauge kit J-3473D-1 or equivalent is required (buy at AZ for $3).
a. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
b. Loosen the fuel tank filler cap in order to relieve the fuel vapor pressure from the fuel tank.
c. Connect fuel pressure gauge J 34730-1 or equivalent to the fuel pressure connection (remove the black cap covering the fitting and you will see a schrader valve. Use a small flat head screwdriver to push the schrader valve in to release the pressure). To avoid spillage while disconnecting gauge, wrap a shop towel around the fitting.
d. Install the bleed hose from the gauge into an approved container and open the valve to bleed the fuel system pressure.
~At this point, fuel connections are now safe for servicing.
2. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
3. Clean both the inlet and the outlet fittings on the fuel filter.
4. Disengage the Quick-connect fittings at the fuel filter inlet as fol- lows:
a. Slide the dust covers from the Quick-connect fittings, if equipped.
b. Grasp both sides of the fitting. Twist female connector 1/4turn in each direction to loosen any dirt within the fitting. Using compressed air and safety glasses, blow dirt out of fitting.
c. If equipped with the plastic hand releasable fitting, squeeze the plastic retainer release tabs and pull the connection apart.
d. If equipped with metal fitting, choose correct size tool from tool set J-37088-A. Insert tool into female connector, then push inward to release locking tabs. Pull the connector apart.
e. Use a clean lint free rag to clean male pipe ends. Inspect both ends of the fitting for dirt and burrs. Clean or replace components as required. If it is necessary to remove rust or burrs from the fuel pipe, use emery cloth in a radial motion with the pipe end to prevent damage to the O-ring sealing surface.
5. Remove the threaded outlet fitting from the chassis fuel pipe. Slide the fuel filter from the bracket.
6. Inspect the fuel pipe O-ring for cuts, nicks, swelling or distortion. Replace if necessary.
To install:
7. Slide the fuel filter into the bracket. Thread the outlet fitting to the chassis fuel pipe.
8. Tighten the in-line fitting to 20 ft. Ibs. (27 Nm).
9. Engage the Quick-connect inlet fitting as follows:
a. Apply a few drops of clean engine oil to the male pipe end. This will ensure proper reconnection and prevent a possible fuel leak.
b. Push both sides of the fitting together to cause the retainer tabs to snap in place. Once installed, pull on both sides of the fitting to en- sure connection is secure.
c. Reposition dust cover over the Quick-connect fitting, if equipped.
10. Lower the vehicle. Tighten the fuel filler cap.
11. Confirm that the ignition is in the OFF position. Connect the nega- tive battery cable.
12. Pressurize the fuel system by cycling the ignition without at- tempting to start the engine. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position for two seconds, then turn to the OFF position for ten seconds. Again, turn to the ON position and check for fuel leaks.
