It sounds too good to be true for a whole rear end. Is it missing anything? And if I was to buy it, would it be a perfect pull out put in installation?
The one you want is the 10-bolt 7.5" with disc brakes, 11.7" rotor w/aluminum caliper 3.42 $450 or pay $50 more and get the 12" rear rotor, same specs otherwise.
Kinda expensive. I paid $250 (pick-up) for my '96 3.42 rear.
I have a stock 96 auto and on this tech info on this site, it says i have 3.08. I also have drums in the back. If I buy a 3.23 with disk brakes would the speedometer be off?
What tools or accessories would I need if I just bought a used complete rear end? It comes with disk brakes so I would figure that I can just hook up the old lines my drums were using. Also, how long of a job would switching out the rearend be?

I bought a rear off of a 96 T/A for 300 bucks. Swapping it out wasn't a big deal. You'll need a ratchet set, a torque wrench for taking off your wheels, a C-Clamp for when you bleed your brakes.. I can't think of anything else. It's a pretty simple little 2 hour job.

I'm thinking about getting the 96-97 3.23 10-bolt 7.5" with disc brakes, 11.7" rotor w/aluminum caliper for $350. I have drums in the rear so when I replace the rear end, I would just hook the abs and brake lines up right?
Also, would I need new parking cables or bushings for the new rear-end?
I would go without it because my 96 doesnt have asr. Im still wondering about how im goin to fix the speedometer and if the regular brake lines for drums will work on the disks from the new rear end
Non-traction control rears connect the same between V6 and V8 - there is one brake line that goes to the T-fitting which services both sides.
It took me longer than 2 hours, even with air tools and an extra set of hands. All the suspension bolts were rusted nice and tight, even soaked em all with liquid wrench. Broke an end link swapping the bar so had to get a new set.
You need the ebrake cables from the disc rear. They disconnect from a fitting in the driveshaft tunnel.
