It depends on where you take it (a regular "joe" mechanic or a custom muffler place). Also, it depends on what type of spark plugs you want to put in it. Many different kinds, many prices. It also depends if you want to put new spark plug wires in it, new PCV valve, new air filter, new fuel filter, new O2 sensors, and if any of your hoses they look at have holes and need replaced. You could end up spending around $200 or more on it. I just did, but it was worth it to me.

I'd say DIY... it'll cost about $40 for a good set of plug wires... $12 for decent spark plugs... air filters, oil change... whatever you want to do... it will be much cheaper, and it doesn't take much work. You could even grab a K&N air filter and still come out well under the cost of what a shop would charge.

Do it yourself. I'm very uninclined to this kind of stuff, but I did em no sweat. I suggest: PCV valve ($1.25), Plugs ($3-6 each), Wires ($12-$50), Oxygen sensors (Bosch $24.99 each), fuel filter ($9.99), air filter (K&N recommended 34.99). If you have any questions on how to do any of these feel free to post or e-mail me. Your car will feel amazing once you do this.

I can't do anything with cars, I am really bad. I rather just take it in because I might f*ck the car up!

I would say do the basic things like oil change and air filter...If you don't really know how to change the plugs dont even try it...the back ones are a biotch to take out and you'll probably go bonkers trying. just my 2cents

                What is the PCV valve??
                Where is it??
Could it be the reason why my gas milage is horrible?

                  http://www.vccc.com/pcv_valve.htm

I doubt that's the reason, although it could play a part of it. Changing plugs, wires, air filter, and definitely your fuel filter and O2 sesnors should help noticably.

I woudl change, air filter, yourself, same with the PCV valve...

both require no tools and very little knowledge, post here if you need anymore help with it.

If you have a set of socket wrenches, and a socket made for sparkplugs, you can do plugs ans wires yourself.

You can do it one at a time... jsut change a plug and a wire...

to make things easier, get to longer extensions and a universal joint to get to the back 2 plugs...

o2 sensors, are easier, technically, but can take some physical strenght and a bad angle to get. I did my driver side one in a parking lot in under 2 minutes. the passentger one took me 20 minutes. to figure a way to get a wrench and beable to turn in, I gave up and used lik 3-4 wextensions and a universal joint, which does not give me much torque to turn the wrench so I busted otu a 2 foot breaker bar, and got it off. You will need a special socket to get the o2 sensor off, I think Autozone will lend it to you if you buy 02 sensors there, I bought my own for $5.

fuel fitler, its been awhile since I did mine, I do not rember the specifics... jsut do it not in your driveway, you will probable spill a little fuel.

These things can be figured out with ease, and at a point you will be able to do them quickly, jsut need to take a dive the first time...

I would reccomend a full day, and maybe have access to a spare car if you see a tool you need to buy.

If you learn to do it your self... in the long run it will be cheaper. I was scare to change my oil for the first time, and that was only about 4-5 years ago, now I have swapped rear axles, sways, driveshafts, oil filter fillers, torn apart a motor, replaced waterpump, adjusted rockers, removed, entire upper intake... Lots of things... and I taught most of it to myself, no professional training, little help form the boards, and alot of help from a chilton's and haynes manual.
