Got a fat nail in my rear tire and to my luck I notice it on sunday (when all the tire places are closed.) So I left my fbird up on a jack and I'll have to take the wheel somewhere tomorrow.
What I wanted to know, is that will it be safe for the car frame and everything to be sitting on the jack for 20 hours?
if its on jackstands no problem, if its just on the jack then i woudlnt leave it on that. Thats bad for the jack and you never know when it could give out.
Factory jack? It shoudl be fine its a screw style one with a base decent sized flat base. If your car is on the side of the road, I would put the spare on and drive it home.
Careful what kind of pavement you leave a jackstand on, I leave my car on a jackstand for more then 1 hour on a black top, and it sinks ~0.5-1 in into it. Luckily its a parking lot and not my driveway
There is no problem at all. That is if you are thinking it is going to twist the frame or something. Good lord. The frame is the strongest thing on the car. You could leave it on jackstands for 3 years straight and come off fine. ;)
