• Good Gas Milage???

I went from Atlanta GA to 50 - 60 miles North of Charlotte NC (Lexington to be exact) to pick up my nephew and neice AND came back South about 15 miles South of Charlotte (about 70-80 miles) on a full tank of gas... and it was still on the quarter mark... That was approaching 400 miles to the tank and I was by all means NOT easy on the gas... (did 75 - 85 MPH all the way) 85% of this was highway miles and some was gunning down some streets... When I filled up again, I added some Prestone High Milage Injector Cleaner. I drove from the south end of Charlotte NC back to Atlanta GA (300 miles) and when I got home, The gauge was a bit above the 3/4's mark... I nearly stopped to refuel anyway because I thought maybee my gauge was broke...

Is this good gas milage?... coming from a Sports Car?

I'd say 400+ is pretty good mileage. I've gotten up to 33 mpg highway. But usually around town driving I'm at about 23-25 mpg. Calculate your mpg by starting with a full tank and your trip odometer at 0, and then see how many gallons it takes to refill your tank. Then divide miles by gallons. When I refuel I usually fill it until it's dripping out the fuel inlet.

Well the other day I took a nearly 300 mile round trip. I got about 27 mpg. This was with 90% of the driving using cruise control going 75 mph. Also it was hot that day..95 degrees.. Also, I weigh 215 pounds plus I had my dad and sister in the car with me. Alot of extra weight. Also, I did do a run from 50-80 full throttle in 3rd gear (5 speed manual) to wake dad and sis up hehe.

And so 90% was highway the rest was just a little around town and a few 5-10 minute idling sessions at drive throughs and the such. SO my car is rated at 30 mpg and I got 27..but it seems about right considering the other factors I listed. :D

So then Need4Camaro getting 400 miles on less than a tank is very respectable. That is the plus side to these cars..not only are they pretty quick and peppy..they get pretty reasonable gas mileage.

yeah, the gas gages on our cars suck...

I got 33mpg on the highway...as soon as check gages came on, i'd go to refuel...i never put more than 13.5 gallons in that car, despite the 16.8 gallon tank...

which is a lot different than putting 15.1 gallons in the Z28's tank.... yowza.

On highway trips with a fully loaded car, I've averaged between 31-34 mpg. I use cruise control, and most of that was done with the a/c on. But I haven't put any high-perf mods on my car.
