plug wires

i'm just wondering what everyone out there is using for aftermarket plug wires....i've heard really good things about Nology wires and Taylor Spiro...i need some opinions.

Go with the stock GM replacement ones from the dealer. You can order them from GMPartsdirect.com for under 35 shipped. These are the only ones so far that will correctly fit 2000+ cars. Every aftermarket one I have seen has a 90 degree boot on the end, they sit right on the header flange and burn up in no time. Trust me when I say IGNITION PROBLEMS SUCK. If your feeling really froggy, you can order a set of DIY's and make your own wires, but be prepared for a PITA.

I second that not going with Taylor because they have 90* ends on the plug end. I have a set in my garage though with only 10,000 miles on them if you'd like them, email me if so.

Look for either Accel(even though I don't like those) or MSD. I have the universal kit MSD that have ends that you can bend to whatever angle you want, they are very nice. I got them from the Dealership here for $85 and cost like $130-150 at auto parts stores if they even carry them.

Jacobs Electronics makes wires that either have a straight or a 45 degree spark plug boot. They have several wire types to choose from, and provide lifetime warranty for the wires; so they'll replace them for free whenever necessary. I've been using these for over two years.

Bosch Copper Electrodes...and whow did they wake my car up. $1/plug.

Wires - replaced with stock AC Delco...can't go wrong with them.

Yeah, I just replaced mine with Taylor and NGK for the first time last night ... Besides the fact that it was snowing out and working in an unheated garage.

But I would tend to ask the question, why does Taylor make their wires with a 90 degree boot since the stock are 180 degrees? Seems like there would be a little more clearance and then you could also use the boot sheilds that GM puts on the car. Well, the car is at 16,000, so we will see how long they last.

The other issue, I only have 16,000, and the AC Delco's were rusting on the outside. 4 gaps were up to 0.62. Basically they looked like crap. Is this normal?

The MSD wires that I make for the 3.8L V6's are a straight boot at the plug end and 90* at the coil. Just a little FYI.

Notice that they are listed for 95-99 3.8 V6, not 2000+. I offered to give them all of the measurements for the wires and told them which type of boot we needed but they wouldn't make a set and put it in the catalog.
