I'm not really complaining (much). I tried Sea Foam after searching the boards here. I was just surprised how easily I fixed what the bleepin' dealership told me was a major and terribly expensive problem, but wasn't.

I typically get the lifter tick when it gets close to an oil change. I add the STP Oil Treatment to the new oil and it goes away for a while. It never went away for me with just an oil the change. The Oil Treatment is a thicker oil additive which helps. I've got 100k on my car and i haven't opened it up to fully diagnose.

I got a silly tick/click from the drivebelt tensioner assembly. Replaced it and the noise is gone

Alright. Changed the oil, added Seafoam, and I still get the infamous "tick". So I'm thinkin its gotta be that my lifters need adjusting/replacing.

Dilema: Chilton doesn't cover this service/maintenance.

Maybe I'm stupid and the lifters are called something else? I'm really wanting to do this work myself(I take pride in my engine repair), cuz I KNOW the dearlership will try to rape me...

            Any help?
